Looking to restore your pre-pregnancy shape?

As the name suggests, a “mommy makeover” is typically done after a woman is done having children and wants some assistance in restoring her pre-pregnancy shape. Mommy makeover is a term that encompasses a combination of the following surgical procedures: LabiaplastyFemiLift™ procedure, vaginal tighteningliposuctionabdominoplasty (tummy tuck), and breast augmentation/lift

Pregnancy, especially multiple pregnancies, can take a toll on a woman’s stomach, breasts, hips, and thighs. Some mothers only need one of the surgeries listed above, while others have a combination of these surgical procedures done. Multiple procedures are often completed during one visit to the operating room. Women should wait at least six months after giving birth before undergoing any cosmetic surgical procedures. Ideal candidates for mommy makeover procedures are finished having children and are in good health. Below are some short definitions of the “mommy makeover” procedures that were mentioned above.

Labiaplasty

The surgical reduction of the labia majora (outer lips of the vulva) or labia minora (inner lips of the vulva) to fix elongated labia and/or to modify asymmetrical labia. Vaginal birth can distort the original size and shape of the labia majora and/or minora.

Femilift

The FemiLift™procedure is a vaginal resurfacing procedure that helps improve laxity, looseness, muscle tone and restores elasticity. It takes about 30 minutes or less and is performed in our office. The procedure is painless, minimally invasive, and there is no need for anesthetics. For best results, a series of three treatments, one month apart, is recommended.

Liposuction

The surgical removal, by suction, of excess fat deposits from a specific part of the body. Liposuction is commonly performed on the abdomen, hips, flanks (“love handles”) and thighs.

Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck)

The removal of excess hanging skin and fatty tissue on the abdomen. Depending on where the excess skin is located on the stomach, an abdominoplasty can be performed on only the lower abdomen (area below the naval) or on both the lower and upper abdomen (below and above the naval). An abdominoplasty that only involves the lower abdomen is called a mini-abdominoplasty.

Breast augmentation/breast lift

Breast augmentation surgery involves enlarging the breasts with either saline or silicone breast implants. Breast lift surgery reduces sagging of the breasts, which is common after having children. Both breast augmentation with breast implants and breast lift surgery can be done simultaneously if needed.
