Gortex Implants (Advanta, Ultrasoft, Soft Form)
The gortex facial implant smoothes
deep wrinkles and frown lines. It is able to enhance the
appearance and shape of your lips by providing a fullness
to the lips.
The Best Candidates For
Gortex Implants
If you want to permanently enhance the size of your lips
or improve their appearance, Advanta may be a good choice
for you.
Gortex implants are not an appropriate treatment for fine,
superficial lines. Dr. Rajagopal may recommend another procedure,
such as treatment with Collagen, Cosmoderm/
Cosmoplast, Restylane,
or Juvederm.
The Procedure For
Gortex Implants
Although the length of the procedure can vary with the number
of implants used, it generally takes less than one hour,
and is done using local anesthesia. Dr. Rajagopal will insert
the implants below the surface of your skin through two small
incisions.
After Your Gortex Implant
Procedure
Immediately Following Your
Treatment:
Treatment results are visible immediately. Swelling, bruising,
or some discomfort will occur. Patients may experience a
sensation of tightness at the implantation site.
Up to One Week Following
Treatment:
Most swelling and bruising should disappear, but lips may
stay swollen for longer. Many people will not be able to
tell that a procedure has been done. Although you may always
be able to feel the implant under your skin, softening of
the implant is anticipated over time.
Three to Four Months Following
Treatment:
Healing is complete. Continued softening of the implant is
anticipated.
To further enhance their results, some patients have used
the gortex facial implant together with other aesthetic procedures
such as collagen, face
lifts, or facial
resurfacing.
