Introducing the Vectra XT Imaging System!

We have a new tool at our disposal here at the San Francisco Plastic Surgery & Laser Center, and it’s one that we’re excited to tell our clients about: the 3D Vectra XT imaging system.

Why are we so thrilled to be using the Vectra XT? Because with this technology, we can capture 3D images of our patients and then use those images to create customized simulations of the cosmetic and/or reconstructive plastic surgery procedures they’re considering—which means that before you make any decisions, you can see what your results will look like.

The Vectra XT captures the images we use for the 3D simulation with multiple cameras positioned for different views. The image-capturing doesn’t take long—all of the cameras shoot at the same time, taking pictures of the face, body, and breasts— and once we have the photos uploaded to the Vectra XT’s simulation software, we can clearly show you what kind of outcome you can expect from your surgery. For breast augmentations, for example, we can show you what various implant sizes and shapes will look like on your figure; we can rotate your image so you can see what your results will look like from different angles; and we can superimpose the simulated “after” image over your “before” image so that you can see exactly what kind of difference the procedure will make in your appearance. You can try out different looks for as long as it takes until you find what you’re looking for.

With the Vectra XT, we are better able to determine what approaches are best for your individual body type, and to give you a chance to get a clear picture of what you can expect from your plastic surgery procedure. In the past, patients have had to rely upon before and after photos to get an idea of what their surgical outcome will be; with this cutting-edge machine, you can essentially see your own “after” photo—long before you even have the surgery.
