V-Line – Face Slimming using Botox (Asian Cosmetic Surgery)

vline.png

A V-shaped face is highly coveted and is considered to be one of the more desired face shapes. Originally, it was Koreans who coined the term “V-line”, which is used to denote face contouring techniques for toning facial features by eliminating puffy cheeks, double chin, etc. to structure the face in a V-shape. However, it's popularity quickly caught on with Americans and Europeans as well.

Why opt for facial contouring or face slimming?

Facial contouring or face slimming helps to impart a V-shape face with sculpted cheekbones that narrow and converge in a sharp angle towards the chin. The face becomes slimmer in profile – Many Asians opt to use a popular facial slimming treatment with Botox and fillers, which helps to sculpt the face and make you look younger, while the skin looks smoother, more refreshed and much healthier than before. The best part is it doesn’t require any surgery!

Am I an ideal candidate for Face Slimming or Shaping?

This procedure is ideal for those with:

  • A square-shaped jawline

  • An overly masculine jaw structure

  • Chubby or bloated cheeks

  • Double chin

Will my face actually become slimmer, or just look like it?

Botox (Botulinum Toxin ) helps the jaw muscles to relax, thereby stimulating a soothing sensation, while causing the chewing muscles to become thinner.  The injected Botox will block the nerve impulses of the muscles in the selected area, reducing any lines or wrinkles, while ensuring the cheekbones long sculpted and the face is “lifted”. Your overall appearance looks fresher, which imparts a youthful appearance. This method is ideal for those who don’t want to “go under the knife” with surgical procedures. V-line techniques involve a few simple injections to the selected areas, with numbing cream applied prior to treatment so you don’t feel pain or discomfort. Sophisticated equipment and the finest of needles are used for injections, thereby reducing any itching, bruising, bleeding, or redness. If you experience these issues post-treatment, talk to your doctor.

How long do the effects of facial slimming last?

The effects of face slimming are noticeable after 3 to 5 days. Your skin is smooth and supple, while the puffiness and double chin disappears. Botox is specifically targeted towards certain areas, so it doesn’t impair functionality of other facial muscles. This effect can last up to 3 to 4 months, after which few follow-up sessions are required for maintenance. However, once the facial muscles get habituated and effects last longer, these sessions can be schedules once every 6 months or so.

Labiaplasty Revisions San Francisco - Corrective Labiaplasty

"Botched" Labiaplasty Correction Services

Have you undergone a labiaplasty procedure which produced less than desirable results? Unfortunately, this seems to be a growing trend as many women face this problem due to choosing an unreliable clinic or inexperienced surgeon. It's only natural to feel upset when you invest financially and emotionally in a procedure and the final result is unsatisfactory. An improperly done labiaplasty surgery might leave you with an irregularly shaped labia and severe scarring, or simply, an unsatisfactory end result. However, a corrective labiaplasty procedure performed by an experienced and reliable surgeon can fix the damage done during the initial surgery.

How does corrective labiaplasty work?

You will want to be sure to bring previous reports and documentation to your appointment. Restorative surgery might include reshaping, re-tightening, and other techniques to ensure the results meet your expectations. Irregularities caused from the initial surgery can be smoothed out and scars may be reduced. Soluble stitches are used, which dissolve on their own, thereby resulting in minimal scarring.

Top 5 Breast Reduction Myths

Reduction mammoplasty, (more commonly known as breast reduction surgery) helps to lift and reshape overly large breasts. It is done by extracting glandular tissue, excess fat and skin, so you get breasts proportionate to your frame while providing much-needed relief from pain in the neck, shoulders and back areas, caused by continually bearing excess weight. Procedures like breast reduction are in high demand, but its popularity has given birth to some myths too. Let's  take a look at some of the most common breast reduction myths.

Weight loss programs aid in breast reduction

These programs are specifically tailored towards weight loss of the whole body. They might help to reduce chest size by combating excess muscle mass and fat, but don’t affect the breasts directly.

Zero scarring

Liposuction is a “scarless” method but any other type of procedure leaves minimal scars, even when done by the best doctors in this field. Ultimately, the amount of scarring depends on the amount of tissue and skin removed. Most scarring usually fades with time – creams and lotions can also help.

Breastfeeding becomes a no-no

WRONG! You can absolutely breast feed your baby after undergoing this procedure.  However, there may be slight difficulties allowing milk to flow from the reconstructed nipples. - Lactation aids can help with this.

NOTE: it is advisable to wait 3 to 6 months after breastfeeding before you proceed with breast reduction surgery. This is because of an increased risk of blood and/or milk collections.

Allergy medications for post-surgical itching

Firstly, you must not self-medicate in such situations – always discuss any discomfort with your doctor. Keep in mind that antihistamines will not relieve post-surgical itching from the incisions made in either the standard or vertical methods of surgery. Your doctor will prescribe the necessary medications.

No insurance coverage

Perhaps the greatest of the breast reduction myths! Even though this procedure is referred to and categorized as plastic surgery, your insurance plan may cover breast reduction surgeries. However, the final amount payable by the insurance company depends upon the overall cost of the procedure.

Breast reduction surgery can enhance your self-esteem and boost confidence, while relieving you from the pain or discomfort often associated with large breast. Although, it's natural to feel hesitant before undergoing breast reduction surgery, many women take comfort in knowing that when they visit the San Francisco Plastic Surgery & Laser Center, they will be treated by one of the leading plastic surgeons in this San Francisco.

Disadvantages disproportionate breasts

Not only does it look awkward, but enormous breasts pose health risks such as:

  • Back aches and shoulder pain, often leading to poor posture.
  • Rashes, irritation, and redness under the breasts.
  • Breathing problems when undergarments are worn.

What's the solution?

Dr. Usha Rajagopal, one of the leading surgeons in this field and performs these procedures – With more than two decades of experience, you can take comfort that you will be in great hands during your procedure.

What Are the Different Liposuction Procedures?

liposuction is performed by Dr. Usha RajagopalIf you’re looking to change the shape of some of those annoying bumps and lumps on your body that just won’t go away, despite repeated attempts at diet and exercise, then liposuction might be the perfect solution. Liposuction is a pseudo-surgical procedure that can help remove unwanted fat from the abdomen, thighs, hips, buttocks and back. There are a few different liposuction procedures available; your physician will help you determine which one will work best for you.

All liposuction procedures are based on the same medical principles; a small incision is made, a cannula (or tube) attached to a vacuum device is inserted, and fat is sucked out through the cannula. The cannula is inserted (through the same incision) multiple times, and is moved around in the area until all unwanted fat is removed.

The difference comes from the methods used to make the fat more easily removed.

Laser Assisted Liposuction

Laser assisted liposuction uses a laser beam to break down the fat and make it more available for removal. The laser also assists by promoting collagen growth to help tighten up the now looser skin.

Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction

This procedure is similar to the laser assisted procedure but uses ultrasound technology to break the fat up instead. The high frequency sound waves disrupt and rupture the fat cells allowing them to be suctioned out more easily. This technique is usually used for more dispersed fatty areas such as the back and abdomen.

Tumescent (or Wet) Liposuction

The advantage to tumescent liposuction is that it often only requires a local anesthetic (unlike other procedures which require a general anesthetic). It is often referred to as ‘wet’ liposuction because of the fluid that is injected into the area before suctioning occurs. This fluid is a mix of saline (the normal fluid of your body), local anesthetic (to numb the area), and epinephrine (to contract blood vessels and reduce bleeding). It causes the fat cells to swell and dislodge so that they are more easily removed.
